Starting March of 2009 we are officially supporting the Justice for Darfur Campaign, which is supported by human rights organizations worldwide such as Amnesty International, calling on the international community to ensure the prompt arrest and surrender to the International Criminal Court of the persons charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes in Darfur, Sudan.
In March of 2008 we joined The Wanted for War Crimes Campaign in order to support concrete actions to demand legal justice and in order to continue to raise awareness about the violations of human rights in Darfur, to support press releases in addition to our own articles and releases. The campaign also revolves around International Criminal Court arrest warrant states and is supported amongst others by Human Rights Watch and the Genocide Intervention Network.
Our Stance on Darfur, Sudan
The ICC accuses Mr. Bashir of war crimes in Darfur. Sudanese officials have in turn stated that Sudan is not a partaking member of this institution and thus refuse to cooperate with any of its investigations. Justice for the World deems this the only possibly legitimate and convincing argument presented so far on behalf of the Sudan government in place, but an argument which does not undo the war crimes, and is purposefully intended to avoid responsibility.
However, and for the time being, we stretch the importance for the United Nations Security Council members to remain committed to the independence of the ICC and to reject any attempt (of Sudan) to invoke article 16 of the Rome Statute, which would defer investigation and prosecution of crimes under international law in Darfur, given the nature of the crimes and evidence thereof.
Meanwhile, we do, in all earnest, advice the international community and the organizations which are actively trying to solve this situation, to continue to look for alternatives in using international legal instruments to bring justice to the people of Sudan and to raise both concern and pressure, before the international community will consider more forceful and ambiguous means to bring an end to the inhumane suffering in Sudan.
But most of all, we, as neutral as we can possibly be, advice the Sudan ruling party to reconsider its path of destruction.
The collective actions of human rights organizations in addressing the situation of Darfur and the proposed solutions have been criticized by some intellectuals. We will go into that deeply in our forthcoming book 'Conscience 2012'.

International Press Release
Via an official international press release, co-signed by Justice for the World, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and 43 other human rights organizations, collectively called 'Justice for Darfur Campaign', we are today calling on the international community to ensure the prompt arrest and surrender of Sudanese president General Omar al-Bashir, following today's decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for him. The warrant should prove to be a major step towards combating impunity associated with the horrific crimes in Darfur. President al-Bashir is now officially wanted by the court for crimes against humanity and war crimes.
Justice for the World stretches the importance for the United Nations Security Council members to remain committed to the independence of the ICC and to reject any attempt (of Sudan) to invoke article 16 of the Rome Statute, which would defer investigation and prosecution of crimes under international law in Darfur, given the nature of the crimes and evidence thereof.

During the past two weeks, several sources have exclaimed that the Darfur government is set on sabotaging justice and have used different methods to obstruct the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for President Omar al-Bashir. These methods include creating confusion, intimidation and harassment. Justice for the World strongly condemns these tactics that aim to obstruct justice.

Senior legal figures from Darfur and the international community today urged the UN Security Council (UNSC) to confront Sudan over its refusal to hand over two suspected war criminals to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Together, Ahmad Harun and Ali Kushayb are wanted for over 92 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur.
International Attention
According to the Genocide Intervention Network, US Congressman Brian Higgins and US Senator Hillary Clinton submitted a letter to President Bush, calling on the administration to strengthen it's diplomatic efforts in Darfur. In in July 2004, the US Congress brought international attention to the crisis in Darfur, Sudan, by declaring it genocide. Darfurians remain vulnerable to displacement, rape and slaughter.
People Call for Justice
Actor George Clooney has been a critic of China's role in the Darfur crisis in Sudan and has recently put pressure on one of the main Olympic sponsors to speak out over China's foreign policy. Earlier this year, US film director Steven Spielberg decided to withdraw as an artistic adviser to the Beijing Games in protest at the situation in Darfur. China has been criticized for its trade and military links with the Sudanese Government, which has been accused of backing militias that have raped and murdered in Darfur.

Two million People forced from Their Homes
The BBC News estimates that at least 200,000 people have been killed and two million forced from their homes in the five-year conflict in Sudan. Physicians for Human Rights estimates a death total of at least 300,000 people.
